Impelled by the idea that beauty is a powerful force, Armenian-born Arut Arustamyan is a fashion stylist & designer who brings a unique perspective to the industry. Arut holds a collection of degrees from institutions such as Central Saint Martins, Istituto Marangoni, and Academia Italiana.

Arut's journey into the industry began at DSQUARED2, where he served as a junior menswear designer, collaborating with the design team in creating seasonal collections while supporting teams and various departments to create presentations and technical packages.

He caught the attention of the Parisian fashion house Maison IRFE, where Arut soon found himself working as an assistant to the Creative Director, taking responsibility for the design process, styling and working on web design. To expand his experiences, Arut then took on the role of the assistant to the Creative Director at Walk of Shame, successfully leading special projects for notable companies such as Allure magazine, Vogue’s Fashion Night Out, and effectively leading production while building a talented team.

In 2016, Arut debuted his brand, DISCOTHEQUE, where music, rhythm, beats, and the art of performance serve as his primary source of inspiration, reflecting his personal expression. The brand aesthetic is a tribute to the legendary musicians of the 1950s, the golden eras of Disco, and avant-garde Punk. From the seductive elegance of Earth Kitt to the electrifying euphoria of Donna Summer, the soulful lyrics of Nina Simone to the boundary-pushing RuPaul.

His work soon caught the eye of various artists and brands, leading to collaborations and the development of creative consulting & styling projects for music videos, live concerts, promo shoots, and TV and theatrical productions.

In addition to his design career, in 2017, Arut established himself as a fashion stylist, leading over 200 projects and working with numerous productions, brands, and media outlets, including editorial and e-commerce, music videos & TV programs, and fashion shows. He continues collaboration with companies such as British American Tobacco, Disney, Nivea, Coca-Cola, Allure, R+Co, MAC cosmetics, and MBFW.

Arut now lives and works in NYC, collaborating with American and European-based brands on imagine building and creating visuals for media and entertainment.
